The Exodus

There has been a lack of posts lately as we are currently in the midst of a major change in our lives. We are finally getting a nest of our own!!! *Hip Hip Hurray!*

Things had not been going smoothly in our multi-family house for a while and the final straw broke. There were lots of unhappiness, hush words, flying tempers and flowing tears. But I wouldn’t label it a total disaster since the ultimate finale is we get to have a place of our own! God is good. All the time. And all the time, God is good!

Right, this is not going to be one of those religious posts. But yet, I cannot deny the presence of God in my life. Yes, I backslid, but just as I started to return to church again, things start moving and I get nudged out of my comfort zone once more. Life with God is like being on a roller coaster. You go through ups and downs and experience major upheavals of emotions. I feel alive once more! Trials and tribulations happen to us all the time. And it is not that God is lousy and allows Satan to get to us. God is almighty. He let it happen. Not a sadist though. Heh. It happened so that we can learn from it. It happened so that He can make changes in our lives and show us how powerful He actually is!

And so, we are where we are today! Waiting on our loan to be approved so we can proceed with the legalities. It’s not easy getting a loan for private property owners but we are almost through that hurdle. The major obstacle of flat hunting had been overcome after weeks of searching and about 20 home viewings. Phew! Now we just can’t wait to get hold of the keys and start our renovation! But due to money constraints, we will only be doing minor renovation plus simple furnishings. However, we are firm believers that our mere presence will make any place cosy! Ha! We are so looking forward to that!

And the most heartwarming part of it all was that even before everything is finalised, I’ve got family asking to bunk over, and friends who can’t wait to pop by for some cosy chit chat and makan sessions. The Man and I have always been homely persons and entertaining friends at home are our dreams come true! For once now, we can invite friends over without feeling awkward about the feelings of others. I can finally see a trace of my dreams coming true!

In adversity, we are strengthened. Through this crisis, I’ve seen and felt love as never before. The KL family was supportive and I burst into tears when we were offered an apartment to migrate to. Once again, I felt the selfless love of a family united. But alas, time is not ripe for migration yet.

My close friends have been very supportive of my move too. And these are the people who can’t wait to paint my house red. To hang out and rot at my place. And of course, these are the friends who will most likely be inclined to fulfill my WISHLIST for the new house! *Big HINT!* ;)
