Mother-to-be-hood

38 weeks into my pregnancy! And I’m almost ready to give birth! Between now to 40 weeks, my waterbag may burst anytime, and I may have to rush to the hospital, hopefully not dripping wet… =p

It’s hard to imagine I’ve come this far! From the day we tried to conceive, I’ve been extra careful in taking care of myself, just in case there’s a baby inside… Then came the day of truth 3 weeks after, when the pregnancy test kit showed that little plus sign! Yay! My fate for the next 9 months was sealed!

It started with buying comfortable clothes that doesn’t irritate my tummy (eg. too tight), and shoes that doesn’t slip (eg. crocs!). No more heels, and no more sexy bottoms… ha! Gotcha there! I don’t own any sexy bottoms in the first place! =p~

Then it came to food. No more oysters! =( No more sashimi! =”( i think those are the biggest sacrifices!

I started walking carefully, eyes on the ground, looking out for puddles. Eating healthily, taking fish, calcium enriched foods, vegies, drinking milk and whatever food I’ve read about that’s good for baby. I started reading up on childbirth, childcare books, and things that I need to know about baby and birth. I sing to him, talk to him, coo to him, pat him, and love him.

I’ve protected myself. Protected the growing foetus in me. And now he is ready to come into the world! I dare say I fared well so far in bringing up my little dot. I do pray I can do as well for my darling Seth. How about a grade A for mummy, son?! =D

On a sidenote, daddy’s away in China for work. He was so worried that baby will arrive while he is away, he became paranoia the night before his departure. I was in the bathroom when he rushed in suddenly on hearing a flush of water! He thought my waterbag had burst! =S How about that for a perfect dad?! Verdict: Grade A-Star Daddy!
