My Jumping Dot

My first trip to the gynae today! How exciting! As usual, big sis went first. When we saw her baby on the ultra-scan screen, I was ecstatic! The feeling was surreal. I saw a 24mm big (or small?) peanut sized fetus with a tiny dot moving inside. That’s the heart beating! WOW!!!

Then came my turn…

At 6 weeks, a mere 3 weeks behind big cousin there, A-dot measures only 2.5mm!!! (Note: The oval shape is my uterus. A-Dot’s marked by the big and small ++) Unbelievable!!! 10 times smaller!! Nevertheless, I was overjoyed when told A-Dot has heartbeats too! I burst out laughing though…

Instead of a little dot beating inside a bean-shaped fetus. My dear A-Dot is too small to hold another dot inside him. So all I see on screen is a jumping dot! So cute! So small and yet so alive. And he’s living inside of me. My own dear little dot!
