IT IS FINISHED

The wedding’s over! On the 12th June 2006 I was officially announced a Lee! Now… I know, I have been a Lee by law for over a year. However, being a Lee by customs and tradition is different. Totally different! I woke up to m my Lou Ye (Father-in law) greeting me Yee Kar Soh (2nd Daughter-in-law)! Woooh…. Shioook man! I tell you! :D

After more than a year of preparation, browsing through every available bridal magazine, tagging everything I like, then half a year of finalizing, choosing and trial testing, the photoshoot was finally done on the 28th March. Then came the ardous task of selecting the best from the best… Sigh… If only I can have all the pics developed. But it’ll mean a 100-page bridal album? Oh no…

There was no royal church wedding, no grand thousand men banquet. I married in seclusion. In the presence of closed ones only. Not exactly a fairy-tale wedding, but still an option for the simple wedding that I’ve always envisioned. That is, the events were really simple, but the preparations, NOT! 2 months before the actual day, and 4 months after parental consent for not having a big affair, we were told to plan 2 banquets. 1 in Singapore and 1 in Malaysia! I tell you ah. Those of you who are ever gonna get married, please heed my advice. That is, NEVER EVER LET YOUR PARENTS TALK YOU OUT OF HOLDING A BANQUET! Cos they never mean it! And they are bound to change their minds too late. For lack of a banquet venue during a last minute frenzy, I almost had to hold my wedding at a grass patch next to my house! *faint*

Wow! Am I glad it’s finally over! After 2 weeks of treats, dinners and tea ceremonys, both in KL and in Singapore, my Man and I felt so exhausted, so drained. We felt like celebrating the completion of our so called ‘customary marriage’. It was then that we realized, that we’ve been celebrating all along!
